Practice areas

Distinct disciplines, considered together.

Many of the matters we see touch more than one discipline. Each practice is led by professionals qualified in the field, and where a matter spans several, one team carries it through.

Disputes & Insolvency Advisory

Financial stress and disputes among stakeholders call for early clarity and a measured route forward.

Disagreements among stakeholders seldom turn on the merits alone. Timing, process and the quality of the information before the parties often matter as much. We help clients understand their position early, weigh the routes available under the applicable legal and regulatory framework, and engage with the other side on an informed footing.

Where a consensual outcome is within reach, we work to structure it. Where formal proceedings follow, we continue to support clients through them.

Areas of focus

  • Pre-insolvency and out-of-court restructuring
  • Pre-packaged insolvency resolution for MSMEs
  • Compromises and schemes of arrangement
  • Creditor and stakeholder negotiations
  • Mediation and conciliation
  • Support in insolvency and NCLT proceedings

Valuation Advisory

Value is increasingly contested, and the reasoning behind a figure now matters as much as the figure itself.

Valuations are examined more closely than ever, in disputes, in transactions and in the boardroom. We provide valuation analysis and independent review grounded in recognised standards and set out with clear reasoning, so that conclusions can be understood by those who rely on them.

Our work spans both sides of the question: forming a view of value, and examining a view put forward by others.

Areas of focus

  • Valuation for transactions and restructuring
  • Valuation in shareholder and family matters
  • Support in NCLT, arbitral and regulatory proceedings
  • Independent review of valuation reports
  • Forensic and financial review
  • Valuation standards and methodology

Succession & Family Governance

Continuity across generations rests on clarity agreed well in advance.

Business families face questions that widely held companies do not: how ownership, control and leadership will pass, how the family will take decisions together, and how the enterprise will be governed as it grows. We work with families and their enterprises to address these questions with care and discretion.

Our work is carried out alongside the family’s legal and tax advisers, so that governance, ownership and structure fit together.

Areas of focus

  • Succession planning
  • Family constitutions and charters
  • Family councils and governance forums
  • Ownership and holding structures
  • Shareholder arrangements
  • Board composition and governance

Social Impact & ESG

Impact and sustainability have become questions of governance, measured and disclosed under growing scrutiny.

Fairtrust Advisors LLP is a Social Impact Assessment Entity registered with the ICSI Institute of Social Auditors under SEBI’s Social Stock Exchange framework. We carry out social impact assessments in line with the SEBI framework and the standards of the self-regulatory organisation.

Beyond assessment, we help organisations approach social impact and sustainability as matters of strategy and governance, with the same rigour they bring to financial decisions.

Areas of focus

  • Social impact assessment under the SSE framework
  • Zero Coupon Zero Principal instruments
  • CSR strategy and deployment
  • BRSR and GRI reporting
  • Sustainability governance
  • Value-chain diagnostics
